You guys… this book was amazing!!! It’s been too long since I read a good Shifter book and I’m so glad it was this one that reminded me how much I enjoy these kind of stories.  It was incredibly well written and developed and is filled with awesome characters that you can’t help but love. 

….

In all, this was an addicting and entertaining story. It’s full of magic, mystery, suspense and a hint of romance, it’s a must read! This is a book that has so much character and soul that it will make you want to read it all over again. I truly can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the next one!! Go buy it and read it, you won’t be disappointed!!

Aside from the lush setting, the artful premise, the incredible society, and the amazing action and suspense, there was an aspect of the story that I found myself enjoying: the romantic tension blooming between Tasia and the Alpha. There is a very subtle undercurrent between these two characters throughout most of the book that doesn’t become obvious until near the end of the book …

The Prophecy is not a quick read, but it is well worth it to be drawn into a spectacular story. If you enjoy the world- and character-building in Anne Bishop’s books or you simply enjoy supernatural/paranormal stories that will suck you into another world, you will enjoy this book!

•Complex and mysterious main character with a hidden past. Although some of her secrets are revealed in this book, I think even at the end of this book there is some secrets she is still holding onto tightly – can’t wait to find out what they are in future books.

•Through-out this book we get a ever growing cast of secondary character which are developed in such a great way. All of them have their own personalities and characteristics, such a great group which are deep and complex as individual characters but to read about their interactions just highlights their complexities and I feels as though I got to know them just as much as the main character.

Surprising, unique, entertaining, The Prophecy is a humorous and modern take on werewolves, magic, and vampires. Petra Landon breaks stereotypes of these themes, creating layered characters that are flawed and real. Tasia describes the Shifters as aggressive, constantly fighting the beast within – they are aggressive and short tempered – but they’re also loyal, friendly, bright, and witty. Raoul is a bit of a brute and has a strong willed personality that he uses to run the Pack, but he’s also fiercely loyal. Landon has a phenomenal history and system in place with the levels of the Wizards, the way the vampires operate versus how the Shifters run things, complete with jargon. The humor is spot on through the clever situations, including one of my favorite scenes where Tasia is on the plane with the Pack, and they discover she’s a vegetarian. The idea of a vegetarian eating with werewolves is still making me laugh. Landon leaves an impression through the characters. A must-read for any urban fantasy lover!

The Prophecy is a fast paced and at times action intense story. Its packed with strong characters and backed by a highly engaging plot. What I enjoyed most was the completely new take on the paranormal world.

It appears that this is Landon’s first novel and as such is worthy of considerable praise as a debut novel. It is fast-paced, always exciting and draws the reader into a world that possibly exists all around us, without us knowing it. I think Landon is a bright new talent in the urban-fantasy world and I, for one, will be waiting with baited breath for the next offering from this uber-talented, debut author.
